Welcome to the largest exhibition of my art ever.
The show will be open 24 hours a day around the world.
In these days of digital photography and the selfie, painting is thought to have become an unnecessary extravagance, something that is unsaleable, since monetary value in the art market is based on fashion rather than the quality of the art produced by the artist.
What is being sold by the dealers is a juggling performance with words and arguments that attempt to explain the art, glossing over any random thought, contradiction, chance event or whatever. …… oh come on!
The importance of the work is now judged on how it is priced and is merely a financial speculation, therefore art has become a commodity.
When artists cannot survive by their painting they are dubbed “Sunday Painters” What should an artist be called who cannot even cover the cost of materials? Perhaps a time waster would fit?
On the other hand, this reality gives me certain freedoms such as being able to do what I like best, simply to paint and abandon exhibitions that cost me money.
Don’t hesitate to contact me if you have any questions that you would like me to answer. I am open to proposals or projects or even a sale if the opportunity arises.
